WPG Ltd pre-press operator Reece Thomas shows Cambrian Training Company’s marketing manager Katy Godsell the medal designed for the 60 Days Across the Cambrian Way challenge.

WPG Ltd is proud to be sponsoring a virtual across Wales walk or run, which begins on Sunday, to raise money for Marie Curie https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/. We are donating medals for all participants and have signed up a team of 21 staff members to take on the 60 Days Across the Cambrian Way fundraising challenge, organised by Cambrian Training Company, one of Wales’ leading apprenticeship providers.

Cambrian Training Company is encouraging individuals, families, businesses, organisations and sports clubs to join staff in covering the 291-mile distance of the Cambrian Way Path virtually in 60 days from Sunday, August 1.

Split the distance among your team

Everyone who registers at https://www.cambriantraining.com/wp/en/60-days-across-the-cambrian-way-in-support-of-marie-curie/  can take on the challenge alone or by splitting the distance as a team, or with family and friends.

Registration costs £15 and includes a T-shirt sponsored by Constructiv Clothing Ltd, a Newtown-based branded clothing and sportswear supplier.

Participants can either secure sponsorship and record the miles they walk on a tracking sheet or donate to a fundraising page  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cambriantraining.

Boost health and well-being after lockdown

Cambrian Training Company had originally planned to involve staff and the apprentices and business they work with. Now the fundraising venture has grown to include everyone who would like to participate to boost their health and mental wellbeing, whilst supporting a much loved charity.

Ian Jones, WPG Ltd’s managing director, said: “When Cambrian Training approached us asking for support for the charity walk, we were pleased to be able to provide medals, unique to the event, a service which is linked to our trophies department.

“Kelly Griffiths, our account manager, also rallied around to drum up entrants at work, all eager to take part and help out. I’m looking forward to taking part.

Marie Curie nurses have been on the front line

“Reece Thomas worked on the medal design, featuring the Marie Curie daffodil emblem, which is so well known. Marie Curie nurses have been on the front line of the pandemic providing vital end of life care for patients and their loved ones.

“With all charities really struggling to raise vital funds, we are happy to support Marie Curie, such a worthy cause, whilst taking on the challenge.”

Team spirit

Katy Godsell, Cambrian Training’s marketing manager, thanked WPG Ltd for sponsoring the medals and raising a team.

“The virtual 60 Days Across the Cambrian Way is open to anyone who would like to take part to improve their fitness, health or mental wellbeing,” she said. “Although the challenge starts on August 1, everyone can still register after this date. All we ask is that the challenge is completed by the end of September.

“The more miles we walk or run, the more money we will raise for Marie Curie, which touches the lives of so many people in Wales and needs public support more than ever.”

Cambrian Training Company, which has offices in Welshpool, Llanelli, Builth Wells, Holyhead and Colwyn Bay, is asking all participants to share their photos by tagging @cambriantrainingcompany on Facebook, @cambriantraining on Instagram and @CTCwbl on Twitter.

We can print anything
