WPG is well known as a quality paperback book printers for self publishers and we were thrilled to be chosen by local publishing company, Media & You to print a new book ‘The World in Full Colour’ by author Katie-Lou Mackenzie.
“The World in Full Colour” is a light hearted, positive story, that takes the reader on a journey, demonstrating that ‘perfection’ can be what we want it to be if we open our eyes.
Paperback Book Printers For Self Publishers
The story is full of achievements, love, inclusion and different perspectives of the world, where a cheeky, stubborn little boy called George and his brother James achieve their big dreams with the help of a little bit of magic from their eccentric Great-grandad.
Katie-Lou chose to write the book through the eyes of a sibling of a child with Down Syndrome as she felt siblings can often be overlooked but are the ones who ground you.
Kelly Griffiths, Account Manager at WPG says “It was great to be contacted by Paul to hear that we were the chosen printer to produce a publication he had been working on with his client. I didn’t know anything about the content of the book or the writer, which is often the case. But when we received the final print ready copy, we were thrilled to be producing a self-published book with such an amazing story.”
Book Printers Offer the Personal Touch
At WPG, we love to build a personal relationship with all of our customers and were delighted that Kate wanted to come to visit us and to see her book being printed.
Kate visited with her son Alfie, a huge inspiration behind her story along with her mum and Paul from Media & You.
They all arrived with huge smiles and were there to see the first sheets off the press, showing the vivid colours on the cover that were beautifully illustrated by Alfie and Jack on the specific paper that Kate had chosen.
Alfie, being still only tiny wasn’t that impressed with the vastness of the factory and its noisy machines, he much preferred our signage department, where he could see the printer darting from side to side, showing the process of ink onto paper in a simpler form. Alfie was the superstar of the day, and it was lovely to have everyone over to visit.
Author Kate says “Kelly and the team at Welshpool Printing Group were wonderful throughout the entire process. The fact that myself, Paul, my mom & Alfie were invited down to actually witness the book being printed is a special memory for me and it was extremely interesting to learn the process required to make a book.
Kelly was professional, welcoming and not a bit phased at having to catch Alfie’s shoe, and being railroaded into singing a rendition of ‘wind the bobbin up’.
Thank you for adding a personal touch and being a key cog to making our publishing dream a reality.”
Media & You
Paul Naylor, Media & You pictured with Kate & Alfie comments “When I was asked to help publish The World in Full Colour, the debut novel by Telford-based author Katie-Lou Mackenzie – I needed a printer I knew I could trust.
Having worked with the team at WPG on a number of occasions and, always receiving great service – it was inevitable that I would ask for help to realise the book.
The novel was printed with care, on time and at a competitive price. I was delighted with the final product, as was the author.”
I will definitely be using the services of WPG in the future and would happily recommend the business to those requiring great printed projects.
