We were delighted to recently help Sally Knight bring her Grandmother’s words to life by printing her amazing life story in a beautiful perfect bound book.
It all began when Sally first contacted us after WPG were recommended to her by her publishing consultant. After an initial discussion about what she was looking for, we arranged for her to come in to meet up with the team here at WPG.
We were able to help Sally by advising on the best layouts & pagination to make the printing of the book as cost effective as possible without losing any quality.
Intrepid – An Inspiring Story
The book is called Intrepid, Phyl Lewin Pioneering Aviator and contains the life story of Sally’s Grandmother, a female pilot who flew multiple times between Africa and England in 1930s and also includes many photographs and flight diaries.
We asked Sally her reason for writing the book, Sally says
“After my Grandmother died, papers relating to her life were passed down in the family and are currently held by me, her granddaughter, and Henry Head, her grandson.”
She continues “I found them so fascinating that I thought I should share them with a wider audience, primarily the extended family and I hope they may be of much wider interest.”
Sally has tried to keep as much as possible of this collection in her Grandmother’s own words but has added some factual sections between the various documents. This addition was to make the story flow smoothly from her childhood through to the end of her life.
These delightful stories have resulted in an amazing perfect bound book containing 194 pages on a smooth silk paper with a full colour gloss laminated cover.
