The funeral service was recently held for WPG Chairman, Brian Jones

Brian sadly passed away on 29th March 2022, a day before his 73rd birthday.

Brian worked most of his life for Welshpool Printing Group, starting at the age of 15 when he left school and began an apprenticeship at Welshpool Printing Company working for Alun Jones and Tegwyn Evans, learning the letterpress.

In 1992 Brian was offered the opportunity to buy Welshpool Printing Company along with his partner, Graham Pearce, when Alun and Tegwyn retired.

The company continued to grow and flourish acquiring other local printing companies along the way.

Welshpool Printing Company Became WPG

In 1998 Welshpool Printing Group as it was known then, moved to the new premises where we are still housed today at Severn Farm Enterprise Park, the move enabled the company to grow and invest due to the increase of the footprint.

This year was his 30th year in business and the company’s 62nd Year in business

WPG is now a completely family-owned and run business with two of Brian’s sons both Joint Managing Directors serving under Brian as chairman until his passing.

Paul and Ian Jones, intend to keep the company successful, using the same ethos and culture as Brian, looking at possible acquisitions, technology, kit and continuing to diversify and expand.

“As a family and a company, we will miss Brian’s contribution greatly, we will endeavour to keep the company a strong and successful business, using the same work ethic and business model that has been instilled into us for many years.” Comment from his sons.

Thank you for all the kind messages and for donations given in memory.
