Shrewsbury Town FC programmes fly off the printing presses at WPG Ltd welcoming the Salopian family back to the Meadow

Shrewsbury Town FC programmes have been flying off the presses at Welshpool-based printers, WPG Ltd, ready for keen fans to get their hands on at tomorrow’s game.

The first Shrewsbury Town FC programmes of the season, costing £3 each, mark the exciting return of full crowds to the terraces for the first time in over a year, after the easing of social distancing measures.

The visit of Burton Albion marks the first match at Montgomery Waters Meadow as a full capacity crowd is welcomed for the first time tomorrow (Saturday, August 7) at 3pm, since March 2020.

Season ticket sales have passed 3,100, which is only around 500 down on pre-Covid figures.

Welcoming the Salopian Family back

In the programme, Shrewsbury Town FC Team Manager, Steve Cotterill says: “First and foremost, I want to welcome the Salopian family back to the Meadow. After a long and arduous wait, we are finally reunited back home to support our team as we embark of the new season.

“On behalf of the management, the Club and myself – we are thrilled that our supporters are now back where they belong pushing the lads forward.

“Continual work is going on behind the scenes to build a team that the Salopian family can be proud of.”

Print, laminate, finish and deliver!

Paul Jones, Managing Director of WPG Ltd, said: “We are so pleased to print, laminate, finish and deliver these programmes again and to see the football season getting back on track, with cheering on the terraces.

“We wish manager, Steve Cotterill, and his team all the very best for their home game and hope that Burton Albion enjoy the highly-anticipated match too.”

Ian Jones, Managing Director of WPG Ltd said: “The programme features an original portrait of Shrewsbury’s Ryan Bowman, by artist Matt Burgess on the cover and as a poster inside.”

“Fans can also purchase a top-quality, limited-edition programme (above), also printed by WPG Ltd, with all proceeds going towards Shrewsbury Town in the Community (STITC).”

Steven Burnside, Events Manager for STITC, explained that through buying the premium programme, fans are raising funds to help people in Shrewsbury, suffering from cancer or isolation.

Steve said: “Our one and only Shrewsbury Town match day programme of the 2020/2021 season is signed by the players and the chairman, Roland Wycherley.

“It is a treasured keepsake of the return of the soccer season after lockdown and is beautifully finished with an exclusive cover, foiled in gold and silver.

“Each limited-edition programme is number-marked by hand, making your copy the only one of its kind. This programme was specially created for our penultimate home match of the season, against Oxford United, kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021.”

By purchasing the special edition programme, you will be supporting families battling cancer and those fighting isolation. Special edition programmes are £10 and the limited-edition programmes (personalised and signed by the players) are £50.
