WPG Ltd is a quality sheet fed lithographic printing company with in-house design and finishing facilities.  The factory operates 24 hours a day 6 days a week and employs over 60 staff.  WPG Ltd recognises that its activities have an impact on the environment and that the staff and management of the Company have a responsibility to manage this impact. This policy sets out our priorities for achieving this.

• Important environmental impacts for WPG are consumption of paper and ink, use of solvents and other chemicals, waste management and energy consumption.
• The staff and management at WPG are committed to complying with all environmental legislation that applies to the business. We are committed to ensuring that site activities cause no pollution to the environment and in particular to the wildlife habitat adjoining it.
• To minimise the impact associated with paper use we only print on stock that is made with ECF or TCF processes, is recycled or is sourced from sustainably managed forests.
• WPG uses modern printing technology, which by design minimises the need for solvents and chemicals.  In considering future investments in machinery, minimal use of solvents and reduced need for ancillary materials will be among WPG’s decision-making criteria.
• Staff at WPG will work to ensure that quantities of waste are kept to the minimum compatible with producing high quality products that meet customers’ requirements.  We will recycle or recover value from wastes wherever this is financially and commercially viable.
• WPG will seek to minimise energy wastage.  Staff will be encouraged to practice ‘good housekeeping’ for energy.  Energy efficient operation will also be a criterion in decisions about new equipment for the business.
• WPG are committed to maintaining the Green Dragon Environmental Standard and to a continual improvement of the effectiveness of our processes.

This policy will be communicated to all staff and will be available to all interested parties.  It will be reviewed on an annual basis.
